Ramp walk celebrates sustainability

The fashion show showcased creatively repurposed outfits from second-hand garments, highlighting the beauty and eco-friendliness of reusing clothing. The runway display underscored the importance of reducing waste and promoting sustainability in fashion.

The event successfully raised awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion and encouraged the community to adopt more responsible consumption habits.

“It was a lovely show. The event aimed to promote sustainable fashion by showcasing preloved and upcycled clothing items. We had 3 sequences of Ramp walks in the show. Almost 60 participants walked the ramp with creative, upcycled or preloved clothes styled beautifully. Our special guests Priyanka Abhishek and Nayana Premnath discussed the value of conscious consumption, emphasising thrifting, reusing, and maximising product lifespans. We featured 10 stalls showcasing various textile waste management solutions, including collection, thrifting, swapping, and responsible recycling options. “ said a SWMRT member.

Raj from Ploggers Army said, “ The key takeaway from the event is the city’s growing community of fashion-conscious individuals committed to sustainability, highlighting the need for more such events to further promote eco-friendly practices. People across all age groups walking on the ramp was like icing on the cake.”
